• Our story

Wildbranch didn’t begin as a plan.

    It began as an invitation.

After intense seasons of serving, leading, and navigating through the brights and darks of life, we sensed a simple call:

    “COME DEEPER INTO MY HEART.”

    This invitation shifted everything.

It became about who we are with, rather than what we do.

We stopped asking, “What should we do next?” Instead, we leaned in and asked, “God, what is Your big story and what is our part in it?”

We began to hear and feel His heart; that He simply loves to be with us.

So we made space for that.

    That is WILDBRANCH.

We gather, in shared silence and prayer, in worship, in long conversations, in a room, around tables, or sitting in a cafe, and turn our attention to God being present with us in every moment of our every day.

    It’s not about programs.

    It’s about presence.

It’s about real people meeting God in the midst of the wilds of life.

It’s about real people with real questions and real dreams meeting one another.

Especially in the noise and flow of busy Tokyo life.

We are making space for life, depth, curiosity, and relationship with God and with each other. All while taking most things lightly and taking only God seriously.

We are following the invitation, with open hands and open hearts.

If you’re curious about what it means to live from the heart and follow Jesus not as a good idea or a good system but as life itself, you’re welcome here.

  • The People Behind WILDBRANCH

Jeremy came to Japan in 2000 with a sense of calling he couldn't shake and hasn't stopped since. In nearly three decades of ministry—planting churches, pastoring, sharing the gospel beyond church walls, and leading disaster relief in the aftermath of the 2011 earthquake and tsunami—he has learned that the gospel is not a message to be delivered but a life to be lived. That conviction wasn't cheap. It was forged through testing, heartbreak, and the gift of finally reaching the end of his own strength, letting God excavate and refine what was left. Now he is more convinced than ever that true life is found only in God, and more hungry to follow into the unknown. His passion is helping people move past borrowed answers toward a living encounter with God, and to discover, often for the first time, who they actually are.

Kumiko has always had big questions about life and eternity, identity and belonging, feeling and perceiving things deeply, especially as a third culture teenager. After encountering Jesus in her late teens and finding a cause to live for, she devoted herself to community life and serving others. Her work has always grown out of love for Jesus and for people’s real stories, from doing health advising in England to hosting a radio show in Japan, to sharing the gospel and dancing at street outreaches to speaking and interpreting in churches. Her quest for real freedom has been the motivator for her curiosity. That pursuit has required letting go of expectations, titles, and familiar structures along the way. Her passion is to see every person, starting with herself, to be truly free to fully live out the beauty of our one and only life.
